Superior Standard Timber Redwoods
We have several superior Redwood trees that are rapid growing and extremely productive for lumber. The climatic conditions at our facility are ideal for the production of more that one million trees per year.
Our redwood trees are custom grown according to the size requested by our customer. If you have a special Redwood tree, we can tissue culture that tree and replicate as many trees as you desire in a period of 1 to 2 years.
We have propagated Redwood trees that thrive in climates that are unusual for Redwoods. Some trees have adapted to higher elevations and dryer climates while others that thrive in cold and wet climates. Redwoods are one of the oldest plant families on Earth. Their genetic configuration with 6 sets of chromosomes was obviously developed over thousands of years to allow the trees to grow in many diverse climatic conditions and regions. For example, the “Champion Tree” in the State of Virginia is a Sequoia Sempervirens.
Our Redwood trees are truly superior in the many ways. These trees are selected from thousands of Redwood trees growing in local forests. Superior rate of growth, configuration of the tree with straight grain, minimal lower branches, quality wood, extended range of growing area and resistance to disease.
Several of our select trees are from sprouts of second growth trees from the stumps of ancient Redwoods that had grown to over 20 ft. in diameter. Two of our clones were from trees that had grown over 200 ft. in approximately 65 years. The trees we started in the Laboratory 5 years ago are now over 25 ft. high.
